Hi, I am looking to buy a 37 inch Toshiba TV. Can you tell me which model I should get. The reviews for both have been similar but have only seen the AV series in stores. See the model # below

Regza 37CV510U or 37AV502U??

This is my 1st flat panel purchase, will not be using for the full HD experience. A few HD channels here and there but nothing major. Can I get the most bang for my hard earn buck with this brand? Or splurge the extra $150 for a Samsung LN37A330? Any suggestions would be great.

I just ordered a Toshiba 37CV510U from Costco. Top pick consumer reports '08.

$599.99 + 14.99 shipping, two year warranty, return for any reason within 90 days.

I have the 32" Regza and just love it, can't imagine this being worse.

I'll let you know this Wednesday when it is delivered. :)

I'm looking at the Toshiba Regza 32CV510U or 32AV502U for the master bedroom. It's mainly watched by the wife, she saw the 32AV502U and liked it the best of all 32" models. I thought it looked very good too (best in the store). However, I see there is the Regza 32CV510U model that sounds a step up.

Which is better the Toshiba Regza 32CV510U or 32AV502U?

I also like the specs of the new Panasonic TC-L32X1 that should be out in March. My 50" Panny Plasma is awesome.

Viewing distance is 10 feet, the source is SD and HD cable. I may add digital media server for 1080p source at some point, but its my understanding that its not possible to see the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 32" LCD's beyond 6 feet.

As much as I'd like to go bigger, there just isn't enough space without hanging it and the wife doesn't like the look (hospital like).

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Thanks for the tips!! UPDATE> So I went to Costco to look at the AV series then saw the 42 inch Vizio for $50 more. And weird the Vizio looked better. Now I know that once I bring the TV home it may not look exactly how the it shows on the floor.

But I was impressed, so much that now I am considering purchasing the Vizio. What do you guys think? Stick with the name brand or give the new guy try?

It's been my experience to stick with the big guns.

The Vizio may have pleased initially, but will it still be viable in a year or two?

The Costco experience allows one to change their mind for 90 days....

.....Try the Vizio and if you're not pleased, try another. Maybe that will be a Toshiba or maybe a Westinghouse.

You are the one who must be pleased every time you push the 'on' button.

Take your time and get exactly what you want, my friend. :)

I really should thank you because I've been looking for a TV for about a week now and this was the one I went with, I didn't even think to look at costco.

A 42 inch Vizio for $650 bucks ? That seems like one hell of a deal as well.

Just fired-up the new Toshiba Regza 37CV510U I ordered from Costco for $599.

As I had hoped, it's a keeper.

Have to play a little with the color saturation and backligting, but this seems 35% better than my year-old 32" Toshiba Regza.

Blacks are great, no smearing, no halos and no dead pixels.

I would be satisfied if I had paid $899 for this unit.

No regrets, mate. :) :)

Cool. How does it look with SD? Do you have cable or satellite?
