Hey guys, i'm sure you get this question all the time... but which style of tv is best for me? For now the majority of its usage will be for xbox360 gaming and movies, but will eventually be used a lot for cable programing. i have gathered a lot of info but i dont know how to make any sense of it... i've been told i want to get either a plasma or DLP. i've heard pro's and cons about both and i'm rather confused. i hear that a plasma's glare and overall life expectancy is kinda bad with the half life.... on the other hand ive been told DLP was the way to go except for a problem with the internal part that rotates at something like 10000 rpms... this figure is what was said to me and was probably stretched a bit, but he said DLP's are overated cause that spinning part breaks easily... i'm thanfull for your time and for any answers

DLPs are being phased out and have too many repair problems. Plasmas still get some burn in tho much less than a few years ago. For a person who wants to do a lot of gaming without worry about burn in you need an LCD tv. Samsung makes the best ones, so, in my opinion you should get a Samsung LCD tv in the size and price you can best afford.

I know and know of many, many people who own plasma TV's and do gaming who do not have any burn in issues. They also say that gaming on plasma looks much better than with a LCD.

Hope this helps.

I don't think Sharp makes plasmas, just LCDs. I know a few people who have panasonic plasmas and they have a fantastic picture. Now get out there and view some in person. :D

ok...after a lot of debating and many trips all over town i think ive decided on a samsung 50" plasma! now i have the problem of deciding if i want the pn50550 or the pn50650, the 650 is slightly more money but its the touch of color model, has an extra HDMI and from what i gather has a better anti glare screen. but still it seems to be basically the same tv with just a fancier look so im not sure, any thoughts?
