Placing 37" LCD on top of Centre Speaker

Would it be okay to have my HP 37" LCD directly on top of my PSB Image C40 centre speaker?

I'm having a problem with space. It is a small room and I just upgraded from an old set of JBL Satellite speakers. Quite a jump in size and I don't want to go out and get a new stand. The old JBL Satellite was about 4" tall and only about 3" deep and sat nicely in front of the LCD. The new PSB C40 is about 12" deep which means I've had to push the LCD to the back of the top of the stand.

If it is not advisable to put the LCD directly on top of the C40, should the C40 be put behind the LCD. I'm afraid that the lower part of the LCD and the base will block sound coming from the C40.

The stand I'm using is from Ikea and it is a corner stand.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. I'm also using a Denon 2309ci and PSB Image B25's for fronts.

I wouldn't put the Tv directly ontop of the speaker. I would try to make some room for it, but don't put it on the speaker. Don't put it behind the tv either, that would be hindering the sound from the speakers.. Maybe make room and put it below the tv.

Those are well made speakers and it weighs close to 25 pounds:eek:!!!! Your TV probably weighs less than 40 pounds. My 37'' upstairs only weighs 35 pounds with the stand. But as 72 mentioned, not the rite way to go. The vibration from the speakers could cause issues and may cause the TV to fall off.. If you can place it in front of and just below the TV (like on the stand), that would be optimal. Since that is such a heavy and sturdy center speaker, you could get away with it tempo if needed, just not the best way to go long term IMO..

Use an wide coffee table for a TV stand.

It get's the picture down to eye level and you can fit you speaker in front of the TV.

If the speaker is too tall, put something suitable under the TV. A piece of wood painted black works fine.
