I also have a Sharp. It was OK from the factory. I thought I could improve it, I tried the setting from that site and man it was horrible, way off. Too dark, impossible to see shades of gray.

Hi, I have Sharp's 46" 1080p model. These settings look great for me. You have to remember everyone's eyes are different and different lighting conditions.

USER SETTING
OPC OFF
Backlight +6
Contrast +36
Bright 0
Color -14
Tint +4
Sharp -1
All other settings are set to factory default.
Good luck!

If you are dissatisfied with the tweak TV site, I would definitely get the DVE disc. But don't just jump into the test patterns, check out some of the videos there and use a pen and paper to write down your original settings in case you mess up. Also, if you have a 5.1 system, their audio test area is really quite good for getting the best audio accuracy.

has anyone got the DVE from netflix? is it the same one you would buy in the store or online?

From what I've read here, it is the same disk. However when you buy the DVE disk you get special glasses. I don't think with netflix you get those glasses. They are needed to complete the process.
