I bought a new plasma Panasonic Viera HD Flat-Panel TV.
However, it doesn't catch any signals from the antenna.
I don't have a cable channel set, just connected antenna on the wall and TV.
The TV also connected with DVD player, and I can see DVD on the TV screen.
I asked some people, and they said that the TV needs a cable box.
I don't understand why the TV needs a cable box.
I don't need cable TV, just want to watch free TV.
What should I do?

Go into the Panny's menu and do a channel search it will seek out available channels

You may have to change from "Cable" to "Antenna" in the menu. Look at the manual for how to do this.

In addition to the above, also go here: http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/Address.aspx

Input the needed data to determine available stations in your area and the type of antenna you may need.

Once you have your new TV properly set up to receive over the air signals, try adjusting the antenna's position up/down/side to side/rotating, etc. Digital OTA signals are extremely directional. Your new set has a built-in Signal Strength Meter to help with this. I believe it's either in the Setup Menu or the SubMenu button on the remote.

Enjoy that new set! :)
