I just bought a Sony 36XS955 today. It is being delivered tomorrow. I tried to buy an AVIA disk, but couldn't find one. I am buying one online tomorrow. Is there a quick and easy setting or calibration change I can make until I receive it. My wife will think I wasted my money if I don't have a nice picture on it.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Try the THX optimizer that comes on some dvd's. The Incredibles and Terminator 2 are 2 that I know of. There are a lot more. It will help you calibrate it till you get your Avia disk.

Congrats on the purchase. :-)
Oh yeah the Star Wars 4-5-6 compilation has a nice setup disc too.

Just make sure you have your high def feed lined up when the TV arrives. Turn on Discovery HD Theater (unless you're using OTA, you'll have to find something else) and she'll be amazed, even without calibration.
