Just installed my Samsung 550 and was wondering what is being recommended for setting for the break in period.

Yeh, I have a 550 too, and it started out great and remains so. This is an LCD, I don't think so.

Take it out of torch mode(store mode) set the contrast and brightness to 50 or below and leave it there for 100 hours or so and you should be fine. Also don't watch 4:3 shows for very long, always set it to fill the screen if you can, if you watch a movie or your playing video games avoid still images and black bars for to long and then leave it on tv for awhile to clean the screen a bit. After the 100 hours you should be fine, good luck and enjoy the new toy:)

There are a few other threads about breaking in new plasmas as well should be on page 2 and page 3 at the furthest I think they are for the Panasonics but that doesnt matter a break-in is a break-in. Like heres one http://www.highdefforum.com/flat-panel-tvs/87280-tell-me-about-plasma-break-period.html
