if your tv has an hd tuner will it have a spot for cable cards?

As long as your tv has a cable card slot. I think you would see it on the unit itself or look in your owners manual just incase they hide it. Just beacuse you have an HD TV does not mean it has a slot!

My Sony KDF-60XS955 has the tuner and the cable card slot.

I suppect it's a function of money. The more you spend, the more functions and features your tv will have.

Also, in that same function, if you're already spending $2500.00 watch additional features do you get @ $2600.00.

It's always a balancing act.

Requirement for CableCard slots in digital tuners was recently added, earlier tuners could decode QAM but not unscramble, earlier still couldn't handle digital cable at all.

what RSawdey said...I would expect anything recent to...but most older models did not. ie: new samsung CRT's have the cable card, older ones just had a standard QAM tuner.
