I currently subscribe to the sports package and day after day see Comcast Sport Net Chicago advertise in HD but only receive SD.

Can someone, that subscribes to MLB Package, tel me if CSN-Chicago games are televised in HD in the 90s channels?

IF Sport Net Chicago your 'home/local' sports affiliate, yes. Otherwise, no. My local FSN (Fox) is FSN Northwest, which is doing about 60+ HD games this season. They have all been on Ch. 95, and I've watch a good deal of them. Lots of other HD stuff has been around there (typically Ch. 90-99 or so), but they are only viewable by people that are in the 'home' area for that outlet. I might add that YES (the Yankees outlet) has a full time HD channel on D*, something DirecTV had to do because the NY cableco's have it as part of their 'yankees sports package' or some such drivel. It is only available to those, again, who are withing the geographical confines of that outlet, nobody else.

How much do you want to bet that next season, when all of the MLB outlets will be running a goodly percentage of their games in HD, that Directv will do to Extra Innings what they're trying to pull with NFL Sunday Ticket this year (i.e., an HD tax to view)?

Not entirely true. I'm in that area, YES is one of my RSN's.

YES-HD is NOT full-time. It only broadcasts HD games, when available. At other times, ch 94 has no signal.

YES-HD has not shown a game on the current road trip. The last homestand ended with games on WWOR (ny ch 9), FOX (national HD), and ESPN-HD. YES-HD has been no signal since (at least) May 26.

From what I understand, there are still some Time Warner franchises in the region without YES and without MSG (Mets)....
