6100 on screen menu.

Not sure what has happened but I cannot get the on screen menu to appear on my 6100 HT. I recall before that whenever I increased or decreased the volume it would show on my TV screen. Now it only shows on the receiver display.

I read the manual and it periodically states that if you do not connect via hdmi then this will occur.

I have my satellite receiver and PS3, connected to receiver via HDMI.

Thanks.

Are you connected from the reciever to the t.v. via hdmi? That is where you must have hdmi in order to get the on screen menu Im pretty sure. I have the ht7100 and Ive never seen the volume come up on the screen when I change it, would be very nice though.

Yes, everything is connected via HDMI.

When My dish network receiver was connected via component ( hd cables ) I used to get the volume meter and so forth displayed on my tv screen, now since I changed it to HDMI nothing. It just uses the display of the Onkyo only.

That was the volume control on the TV you were seeing.

I have never seen an Onkyo receiver display the volume bar on a TV screen.

Is it because it was connected via component cables before ?

Press "receiver" on the remote control and it will show the menu after you press "setup"

The receiver will never show the volume bars. What you saw before was the TV volume on the screen.

Guys, it was the 6100 volume bar I saw on the screen before. It looks much different than the panny on screen volume meter.

Like I said it could have been because it was connected via component.

Before, my vip612 was connected to it via component now Im using HDMI, thus the loss of the on screen menu.
