Here is CNet's as well. I like Cnet better than HD Guru

Take those recommendations with a grain of salt as I found many faults and misinformation in both, C-Net being the worst of the two.

I never see philips on any of these lists, I have a 42 inch philips lcd and I love it but its rare that anyone ever talks about them, I owned a philips 1080i crt before I bought my new one and that tv looked great. Is there a good reason why vizio and westinghouse make some of these lists and philips doesn't?

Philips withdrew manufacturing from the US market and now all TV's labeled Philips are made by a very inexpensive Chinese manufacturer named Funai.

Ah, thank you for the response. I did some research and the change didnt take place until september first and my tv was manufactured in september 08 in new mexico so is there a chance that it doesn't have low grade parts? Also funai is a japanese compay that has been manufacturing for philips for awhile so hopefully they wont cut costs by making crappy parts, and because they are using the philips name technically philips still has the say in how their stuff is made right? Im probably wrong about that though, I don't know its sad to see a good company go south because of something like this I have always liked the philips brand and the two philps Tv's that I have owned have really impressed me, oh well I guess thats the way things work out.

That would be Mexico (country of origin) not New Mexico (a state). And although Funai may be a Japanese company all of their products are made in China.
