I just purchased a 606 and am looking for a pretty good set of speakers for it. I am planning on spending about $1000. What would be some good choices? The KEF 3005 looks good. Any suggestions?

The KEF speaker system you mention is excellent. Here are a few others that would be good as well.

Infinity Beta 20s are the steal of the year. They're going for less than $80 a pair on the Harmon Audio ebay store. 4 of those and a matching center and you'll have enough dough left for a nice big HSU sub.:)

How about the low end SVSound speakers?

Any one familiar with them?

Check out the Polk Audio on Amazon. Specifically, check out the following items:

Polk Audio Monitor 30 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (Get two sets)
Polk Audio Monitor Series CS2 Center Channel Speaker
Polk Audio PSW505 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer

Pretty stoked about that setup and plan on ordering it tonight, to match the 806 I found on there last weekend for $590. The total price is less than $600 with a savings of a little over $795 off the MSRPs.

DLPVIEW..was wondering if you ever pulled the trigger on your speakers?

For my larger room, I just ordered 4 Infinity Beta 20's, a PS10 sub, and C360 Center...Thanks for the info Kampsy..Got this setup for 640.00 delivered to door via ebay. Feel good about it.

For my smaller room, I have to have wall mounts (WAF in play). I have narrowed down to:

Kef 2005.2 - 599.

Def Tech 60.6 - 399.

Infinity TSS 1200 - 599.

Onkyo 606 in the driver seat. I listened to the Kef and thought they were really amazing when considering size. Cannot find the 60.6 anywhere as I know they have been replaced with the 600's. Am trying to get somewhere to hear the TSS 1200's.

No gaming on this setup..mostly sports and movies. Thoughts anyone on strengths/weaknesses of the above 3?

Out of those 3 the KEF's are the clear winner.

Just Checked at A4L and they now have the 1005.2 back in stock. Are the 2005.2 worth the 100.00 premium? I thought I read somewhere that the sub was significantly upgraded in the 2005 series vs the 1005's?

You read correctly. If it were me, the 2005's would be the speaker system of choice.
