Could Someone Explain To Me Why I Have To Wait 45days To Get The East Coast Feed Of Local Channels In Hd When They Can't Provide Them To Me In My Chicago Market Yet? Is This A Marketing Ploy,or Is This A Way For Us In The Midwest To Go To Cable With More Available Stations In Hd?

The 45 days is for DirecTV to get a waiver from the local station(s) to provide you with the East Coast HD feeds. It's not a "marketing ploy". However, you stated that you were in the Chicago market. Are you actually in Chicago? I ask because on DirecTV's own website it says that suscribers in the Chicago IL market are eligible to receive the HD feeds sans the waiver.

Be advised, applying for a waiver does not necessarily mean that the local station will grant it.

I got my card in the mail yesterday. I was granted all the east coast feeds in HD except NBC..at least the wait paid off for the others. I live between Columbus and Cleveland OH and can not get OTA HD feeds. Happy camper here:)
