Here's the latest scoop. Minutes ago a DTV HD Supervisor stated that the H10 upgrade is indeed underway.

Before you get too excited sportsfans, read on.

The satellite beam transmitting the upgrade is sweeping the country by region. When questioned regarding the timeframe, the HD Supervisor concluded by saying that DTV hopes to complete the sweep by the end of May.

Those of us familiar with George Orwell's "1984" can find comfort in the knowledge that DirecTV is well versed in "doublespeak". Check it out.

"The upgrade is coming in "March". What do you mean "March" there was never a "March" you must be confused it was always planned for "April". Brother, we are beginning to worry about you, everyone knows the plan is for May 17 and 18. Great news Brothers and Sisters, DTV Customer Service states that victory is here, the struggle is over, our galiant troops toppled our enemies, the upgrade is complete. Hours go by. No upgrade is apparent. The masses are nervous. All await the latest news.

It arrives -

"Loyal followers, brave Brother DTV HD Supervisor honors us with the news we have all been waiting for, and I quote, "All is well, all is according to plan. Final victory is near. As you have always known victory will be attained by the end of May."

Well, my understanding is that the upgrade signal will be beamed (via satellite) not transmitted on a phone line. So theorically our phone lines could stay unplugged. With that said, I also know that leaving your phone line disconnect for an extended period of time can effect your PPV processing. MY RECOMMENDATION IS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER YOUR OWN CIRCUMSTANCES, CONSULT YOUR DTV MANUAL AND CONTACT DTV WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.

Since I don't own a land line (cell phones only), the decision to keep the H10 unplugged is a no brainer. :D

The upgrade is beamed to your Sat. I have never used a land line and don't plan on starting...I order all of my PPV over the net. Take care:banana:
