I am a bit new at HD. Would somebody explain what an off air antena is? Is the signal source from Satellite?

Usually referenced to as OTA "Over-The-Air" Antenna not "Off Air Antenna" but its any antenna able to receive the UHF and VHF Band which are Audio/Video spectrums assign at different ambient frequencies (known as channels) for analog and digital signals!

In very short terms, it's either an indoor or roof top antenna.
one of the two would be needed to receive local hd programming, and it's not a source from satellite. Hope this helps.

An OTA antenna receives a signal by resonating in harmony with Radio Frequency waves from a terrestrial broadcast antenna.
