First off, Im asking that there be NO DISCUSSION in this thread. Please simply tell us if you have the blackout problem that lasts a couple seconds.. (audio stays on) and what brand and model TV you have. Im trying to find out if theres some kind of pattern.

PLEASE do not write anything but your brand of TV and whether or not you have this problem. Thank u. If you want to discuss the problem, please go here. http://www.highdefforum.com/showthread.php?t=7914

Also during one of the blackouts my expensive HDMI cable actually stopped working, so now the audio/video is constantly black. Beware of using your HDMI cables with this receiver. :(

H10 with HDMI blinks and loses audio on Sony 42" plasma; H10 with component on Sony 70" XBR LCD does not. Both reset H10 on incoming calls from area code 251 and 877.

Having HDMI problems ... not sure if it's the "blackout" issue tho . . .

Picture flashes in different screen sizes, as though searching for a format. Picture then goes green. No sound on HBO HD channel.

You know when the waiter says, "don't touch the plate, it's very hot"

Well I bought the HDMI cable...... and...... green flashes on the screen and periodic blackout of pic and sound..

I'm back to component cable... no prob....

good thing I purchased the cable on line instead of bb.. at least it only cost me $35 bucks to learn a lesson.

HR10-250 Via Component Vid. I have blackouts for a second or 2 .. I also have had one full blown HR10-250 crash and reboot.

FYI signal at 1080i into my Panasonic TH-50PHD7UY

(DVD's at 1080i from the Oppo DV971H via DVI are stunning!)

I get the blackouts every once in a while, it's not that big of a deal to me. What's worse is that my picture jumps up and down on my tv when there is a bright flash. I think it's a TV problem, but I'm not positive. Trying to find a HDMI DVD player to test the HDMI port on the TV, but circuit city and best buy don't have any.

Anyone else ever have a problem like that?

The purpose of the original post of the thread was to state if you had the problem and what tv brand/model you have......I haven't fixed the problem. It will flicker for a half second every 30 mins or so, sometimes less often than once every thirty minutes....sometimes more often than once every thirty minutes.

Directv says the only problem as far as the blackout goes has to do with people who use the caller ID feature of the box. I have never used this feature and I still get temp. blackouts. This is very annoying!!. Directv says they need more reports from people before they can act on this problem. I find it hard to believe that they are not aware of this problem. If you haven't contacted Directv yet PLEASE DO. Thank you!
