Are You Happy with Your H10

I bought an H10, and then returned it less than a week later because I was unhappy with the audio on it. I have since then been trying to find another HD satellite receiver, but most of the stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Good Guys) seem to only carry the H10.

I also have 2 PMs about the audio issues as well. One PM indicated he was so frustrated with the H10 that he was thinking along the lines of a class action suit.

And of course there is a long string of postings on this forum from members who have troubles with their H10 in one way or another.

We would like better support from D* or Samsung on how to control these things!

So I have to wonder, how many people are really satisfied with their H10s? If D* had a better idea, would they do something about it? Please speak up!

The H10 is the only new DTV HD receiver.

I believe the H10 is the best HD receiver to date. With that said, it is hard to believe that they, (DTV), would release a receiver with so many problems. If the fix doesn't come soon DTV HD customers will be facing a bleak HD viewing future.

I absolutely love my H10. In 7 months it has locked up only once. It is equipped with 500GB hard drive that holds 63-hours of high-definition recording, 427-hours of standard-definition recording.

The HD programs (as limited as they are) come in fantastic. I can't really think of 1 complaint. The only sad thing is that it will become obsolete when the new Sats are in place and running.

Is the Samsung SIR-TS360 an option?

I thought there would be more opinions given.

It is an enhanced or "hacked" unit. For more info check out the following forum:

I got fed up with the H10 HDMI connection with my Panny today. So I added component cables and was pleasantly surprised just how good it looked. And don't know what I like best now, component or HDMI. In any case, there is no excuse for the sorry state of the H10 HDMI connection. I'm going to get on the horn with D*TV and everyone else who is having the same problem should too. Let's do our best to make this one loud squeeky wheel.

Tase2,
I think you are confusing the HR10-250, which is the HD-Tivo, with the DirecTV H10, which is only a satellite receiver. This thread is intended to ask about the satellite receiver, not the HD-Tivo.
