 IF I have my audio receiver situated below my 811 HD receiver could there be interference with the 811 from the audio receiver?Magnetic interference?Which would cause the HD tv picture to be less sharp?
I moved my audio receiver away from the 811 and I think I have a better HD picture now.Is anyone else familiar with this magnetic interference?

More likely a speaker magnet problem than an a/v receiver.
Try moving center channel or sub woofer further away from HDTV.

I only have my headphone connected to my Audio receiver..I have no speakers.
So I keep the audio receiver in front of the tv set and the 811 receiver under the TV set in the tv stand.
My HD picture has approved since I :yippee: moved everything around.

Magnetic interference would not cause a picture to be "less sharp". It would totally distort the picture. If you've ever seen magnetic interference on a TV, you get discolorization, almost like a rainbow effect. It's caused by magnetic pull of the electrons in the picture tube. Believe me, not having a sharp picture would be the least of your problems.

It's usually caused by speakers that are not magnetically shielded. I've never heard of a problem with magnetic interference from AV equipment. I have all my equipment (receivers, amps, DVD player, CD player, DISH receiver, etc.) all in two racks, one on top of the other, on either side of my TV, and I've never had that problem with my rear-projection Hitachi. Do AV receivers even have magnets in them?

I doubt if the 811 and receiver were the problem. But if you say you see an improved picture since moving the equipment, then that's all that really matters in the end.

I'm getting conflicting answers to my question about whether there's a magnetic field problem when an audio receiver is under an 811 receiver. Some of you said yes and some of you said no.
So I'll just go by my own personal experience..YES the picture looks better when the audio receiver is moved away from the tv set.
I wonder if I should move the 811 receiver from the tv set.
