DISH Player-DVR 625 question

does the dvr 625 allow the external hard drive.my mom is wanting it for girly shows ..lol shes running out of room

I had the 625 a year or so ago before I upgraded to the HD Vip622. At that time no, you could not add an extrnal hard drive. The USB port was active, but did not work with such devices. It was supposed to be used for the Dish portable thingy I think to dowload programs. I believe that is still the case. The extenal HD feature for the HD DVR's are due to the much higher capacity needed for HD content. 120 gb hard drive is very good for just SD only (up to 100 hours I think)..

USB port on the 625 is USB 1.1 - too slow for adequate transfer.

Buy a DVD burner and play the programs to be saved into it.
