As some of you know, awhile back I had my PSN account stolen from me and a $40 charge for GT5 put on my CC, so of course I got my account back and had VISA reverse the charge. What I didn't know was if you're involved in identity fraud and/or reverse charges on the PS store, even if you aren't responsible, you can get your account banned or terminated. I guess Sony finally got to my case and banned me. Sucks. I lost my biobooster handle, my COD4 rank, Warhawk (unable to be played now since it only works with the account you bought it with), etc.

Yeah, so whatever. Water under the bridge, right...

So now I need to make a new PSN ID. Anyone have any good name suggestions that don't include "420" or "killa"? :D

I'll go through the PSN ID sticky and find most of your PSN names and re-add you. What a pain in the ass...

That is a pain. I haven't been involved with gaming online yet but I just got Warhawk and I am going to get started. Sony surely knows where the GT5 was downloaded and that shouldn't be held against you or am I missing something here?

very good question. maybe he should call sony and complain. if they decided to ban the account then it's their fault that you don't have access to what you purchased. you should tell them if they don't refund you for the games then you will put in a complaint with the CC company you purchased that stuff with. you can file that you didn't not recieve the stuff you purchased and sony is not allowing you access. so essentially they took your money and gave you nothing.

I explained the Warhawk situation when I talked to customer service and they said they'd have a "technician" call me back the next day because the rep didn't know how to handle the situation. The "technician" told me that there's no way for me to transfer Warhawk or any of the PSN games I downloaded to a new account. I didn't put up a fuss because I barely ever play Warhawk anymore.

What this all means to me is that any game I downloaded with my PSN account is now lost, it only exists on my HDD. If I wanted to upgrade to a new HDD or my PS3 broke and I had to get it replaced, I would lose all my games. I'm guessing I've spent around $150 on PSN games..

Yeah, if you downloaded Warhawk from the PS Store it's bonded to that account to prevent it from being gameshared. Of course I'm going to add you, Eddie. You're my best friend on the PSN. :hithere:

If I was starved for money, I would definitely have gone that route and put up a fight against Sony with VISA, but like I said before, it's only $150 and the technician said it would be impossible for them to move all my PSN purchases to a new account. I don't know what I can do other than bite the bullet and re-buy the games if I ever have to or want to.

It's not their folly because my incident was unrelated to the PSN security breach. It was a lone thief that stole my account.

that has to be bullshit... i have several "user accounts" on my PS3.. my, my wifes, my sons.. a guest account.. etc.. and ANY PSN game i download (except warhawk) any of my other user accconts CAN PLAY IT. my son was playing blastfactor using his user account..

keep all your games on your PSN, delete your biobooster user account, make a new user account and register that user for PSN... im positive that that new user account will still be able to play any PSN game you downloaded (except warhawk).. and as for saved games, just press TRIANGLE and use "move" to move any saved game data into another user account profile. (granted some games have restrictions like burnout paradise)...

I know your not starved for cash but you have to take inicitive for those that are. you see it's action that moves companies to make changes. for instance twice now i have helped a cause that got a product recalled simply by showing a store how wide spread a problem with said product was. i simply explained the problem and showed them tons of posts that showed others with the same exact problem. in each instance i was given credit back when i was not even supposed to get anything back. within a couple weeks those products were taken off the shelfs. later one of the store reps thanked me for the action i took because that type of fault not only was bad but it could have lead to someone getting hurt.

at the time i had no idea the issue could cause harm but later some tech realized it could.

obviously your problem will not cause physical harm but you could lead to a policy change that will help others that have no clue that they are entitled to getting their purchase back. maybe sony will start to credit the accounts of people with situations similar where the Account gets started over for some reason.

i know for sure if it was me i would be on the phone arguing for every last $. i'm far from being in a situation where i need to pinch pennies but i'm all in a situation where i can fight those fights and take a loss without care. it's those types that need to stand up because those who can't take the loss usually don't know how to fight.

hell i just got done disputing a $4.58 bill for a sub i bought at a local sub shop. they rang through my credit card twice so i had to dispute the charge. these freaking guys tried to fight the "Big V." but that fight didn't last since they could not produce more then one reciept with my sig.

It's your choice but remember it's choices like this that end up hurting the consumer while the big companies profit off it.

Was it a gameshare gone wrong? If so I'd say you're screwed.

If it was somebody that got into your account on their own then I'd say Sony ought to pony up for you. Tell them you'll delete your old account but you expect to be credited for the items you paid for on your other account. I'd be pissed, regardless of how much money it was.

wwhhhhaaaa???... .. ok let me understand this.. i purchased all my downloadedable PSn games using MY account (chainclutch).. if i delete user account "chainclutch" does that mean that my sons account "emilio" will not be able to play any of the downloaded games like blastfactor? Yep. You'll get a 'copyright error'.

You could always go delete your account and try it to see what happens, but that's what's been reported among many gamesharing circles.

Eddie and Pinoy-

I should've been a little more clear about what I meant when I say my account was banned. "Banned" doesn't mean your account gets deleted from your PS3, it means that your account isn't allowed to go online anymore. Therefore, it's basically useless. I can still access the games I downloaded with my biobooster account, but if I want to get a new HDD or need to replace my PS3, I'm screwed with regard to the games I downloaded since the account is banned I'll have no way to re-download the games. But as it stands, I can still play the games I downloaded as long as I don't delete the biobooster master account from my PS3. It's when you delete the master account you made the purchases with that makes the games unable to be played for copyright reasons.

I missed this all day somehow. GLOW that sucks!

BUT, what about the following scenario??

What does Sony do when someone accidentally delete's their account? There's got to have been situations where that's happened? And I can't imagine Sony would just tell them to suck eggs.

Actually, nevermind. I just realized that those people would merely have to re-register their user name. Crap. :banghead:

Oh no, I understood what you meant by 'banned' :D
And the whole thing about not being able to put the games you PAID for on a new HDD is exactly why I'd be pissed. If that HDD fails, or your ps3 dies, or you decide to upgrade your HDD you are screwed out of those games.

I know Sony has a 'nonrefundable' clause in their TOS, but you should call them anyways. Maybe see if you can work out some agreement to delete the old account and have them credit your new account with the same amount of $ you spent in your Biobooster account.

Anyways, got a new handle yet?

4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a term used in North America as a way to refer to the consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with the drug subculture around cannabis.

Or to put it more bluntly than Sobay: 420 is a pot smokers favorite number.

From google...

According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation. While our teens feel that they know something we don't, you can let them in on the fact that it was your generation that came up with the numbers.

Ask and you shall recieve..

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=one+time
One time described as - The cops. It's correct that it means looking more than once can draw attention. But the actual phrase comes from someone saying "one time" to let the other passengers or friends know that they have now seen the cops and are claiming the first look, and no one else should now turn around because two or more people looking increase your odds of being stopped by more than 50%.
