Tivo and Samsung Reciever

Question: If I have an LCD HD TV hooked up to D* Samsung HD reciever via HDMI cables and I am running my digital sound through my DVD/Audio Reciever, is there anyway to connect a non hd tivo into the tv and use it?

How could you do that? Since my tv is always on the hdmi screen, and the signal output is set to 720, would the the tivo not work?

Am I better off just hooking it up to my upstairs non hd tv?

I am not ready to throw a $1000 down on a hd dvr especially sine I heard that the new mpeg recievers will not be compatiable....

But either way, could you do the non standard tivo connection?

Please advise

I currently have the HD samsung receiver and the SD Tivo hooked up to my TV. As long as your TV has 2 or more video in-puts it should work. Make sure you come directly off the dish and do not split the line inside the house. sw

It's not your TV that's the signal source, but the STB! You need to connect your STB of the downconverted SVideo output to the 'Aux' input of the Tivo. The Tivo can't tune any digital channels, but it can record the downconvert of the current channel.
