Hello guys I am new to the forum..I just got a PS3 and I figured that I could connect it at my PC lcd monitor which is a Samsung 305T 30 inch that runs at 2500 x 1600 native resolution and has a single DVI dualink input . I got the following cables HDMI-DVI and HDMI to DVI dualink and no matter what I do it won't work . I am desperate because I tried every setting. I did connect it to my XFX NVIDIA 9800 GX2 HDMI input and it immediately got the signal with both of these cables. I need to mention that on the NVIDIA control panel I was getting the option of 720p and 480p although the monitor runs at native 2500 x 1600. I even tried blue ray movies on my pc and run perfectly .Will Fury converter tot he work since my monitor has a single DVI dualink inout?Do I need to follow a certain process? Can anyone tell me any hints to connect my PS3 to this monitor please I am desperate thank you.

I don't think the dual link will pose much of an issue.

Try this, hook up the PS3-HDMI and the LCD-DVI. Put the LCD on the right input (if you have multiple inputs) and then hold down the PS3 power button. See if the auto detect feature kicks in. You might be restricted to 720p depending on how your monitor handles scaling.

Anyways, good luck and make sure to not pass Audio over the HDMI, that can make things ugly.

It seems that the issue is that the monitor is not HDCP compliant therefore I need something like the fury to strip HDCP but can I connect it with the monitor's DVI dualink input if I use the standard adapter that came with the graphic card?

HDCP shouldn't be an issue, that should only interfere with movies (BDs/DVDs.)

The PS3 should still display its XMB and games (which aren't HDCP restricted.)

I'd try to remove as many adapters as possible, as the conversion from digital to analog might cause issues.

I'm having exactly the same problem and its driving me nuts. I have a HDMI to DVI adaptor at the PS3 end running from there over a DVI cable to the 305T. Nothing but the default red/green/blue scrolling on the monitor.
Interestingly the optical audio is plugged in seperately to sound system but also doesn't output anything.
Dont want to go buy a HDMI to DVI cable if this is just going to end in failure as well.
Please help. Desperate.
