Quick report from Costco and Best Buy

I visited these two stores in my quest for a 37-40" LCD.

Costco had so-so choice, I wanted to see Sharp Aquos 37" 1080p but they only had a 32" model. I didn't really note prices but I think they looked like the lowest retailer.

Best buy had a much bigger selection, I think they had just about everything in every size. I was interested in 37-40" LCDs.

Well, the two that really stood out for me were Sony Bravia and Samsung. Sony had the brighest, most contrast picture and Samsung looked nearly identical IMO. Of course the price, 40" Bravia XBR was something like $1700 in Best Buy.

Looking at Sharp, Panasonic, Philips, etc. I couldn't really tell any difference. They all looked very good.

I realized 40" is the optimum size for me, but I will probably go with Sharp Aquos in 37". 42" is also very tempting.

Yeah, I just wanted to report on B&M stores.

Online, I think you can find competetive prices elsewhere too, like amazon.

Myself, I am trying to get one off Ebay..

He'll be ok as long as he buys from a reputable seller. It will also state in the listing how much you're covered for (eg $2000).
