The more I read this forum not sure if upgrading to the 811 is
a good idea most threads suggest to me that with sd picture
is not very good. At present with my new Hitachi s715 and
older model receiver sd is very good, I also have ota hd (4 channels)
which is excellent. Does anyone receive good service with
there 811, in seems about 90% of viewing would be without
HD as I view the dishtv line up for HD.

I have two channels where once the PQ was really bad, USA and ESPN News. And I stress the word once, because the channels were horribly pixelated, but it was for one night only. Since then, I have never had any problems or the horrendous PQ on SD material that's been posted on any of my channels.

The digital channels over the air are great on my Sony 34" and the 811.
They are way better than the Dish standard digital which looks like crap.

i have the 322 box, a samsung 50"DLP and a 26"flat tube+ 2 "regular old televisions. the pic quality is some times crappy on my HD sets,
while looking better on my standard sets.
Would the 811 receiver help the SD quality?
The HD sets are a recent purchase so i have not upgraded to an HD box
while considering a move to DirectTV after waiting for Voom to lay down :( : (

I did a reset on my 811 a while ago (held the button in for about 8 seconds) and most of the crappy picture went away, not sure if it was coinsidence or just all in my head but it really does seem better not then when we first got it.

I think the 811 sucks! I can't stand to watch SD. I'm going to hook up my 301 which is much better.
