I am considering "moving" to my son's address in order to get Chicago locals. On the D* website changing the install address appears to entail scheduling a new dish install at the new address. This I don't need. Anyone have experience "moving" without scheduling an install?

This type of "moving" is a violation of the directv service agreement.

Call Direct TV and say you need to change your service address but want the billing address to remain the same. You may offer a "visiting family for an extended period" reason if you like. You will then have the Chicago HD locals.

If you are outside the spot-beam range, you will not be able to pickup the Chicago HD locals no matter what address you give them.
