"Street Fighter IV is said to be anything but a slightly graphically improved version of the old game. Its new cel-shaded visuals and modified gameplay mechanics are to offer the perfect fight setting for the already popular old characters"

I for one, am hoping it can live up to what it should be. SFIII was an awesome gem. But not popular enough because it was so different from the mechanics that were established in SFII and it's many iterations.

I think what did SFIII in was the CapcomvsMarvel series.

SFIII was definately the sequel to the original S/SF2. None of that Hyper/Turbox2 Crap!

I, however, sucked at SF3 haha which is odd since I'm really good at SF2. It's those damn parries, my friend is a parry-master, which would trump my overall better gameskills (based on me whipping him in SF2, but him usually barely beating me in SF3) than his. Haha.

I loved Street Fighter 3: Third Strike on Dreamcast, hooked up in high def, those visuals might have been a "mere" 320x240, but damn, every pixel on that screen was pure sex!

Asses will be whipped.

I'm ace boom coon at SF in my neighborhood. Just ask my friend Matt:lol: He swears up and down he's got my number, then I just crush him with Ryu.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited for it. Hopefully we get a few people from the HDF on both the PS3 and 360 that can match up against each other.

I should be getting this 2nite. BTW, anyone liked SFEX+alpha? Many SF fans hated it but was pretty good once you get used to the timing. Doctrine Dark, skullomania, etc were some cool chars

Sorry, can't say that I agree with you here. I thought they were poo. I've purchased almost every iteration available from the street fighter series. This was not one that I enjoyed at all.

That was actually why I was a little worried when they were talking about 4 being in 3D. But was very relieved to learn that it was just 3D "looking" while still playing very much like a 2D fighter.

Yeah I know, most ppl hated SFEX+alpha series. I was playing it once in a store and a bystander was amazed at what I was doing. I liked the first of the SFEX+alpha series, the second one was not that good. I never could get into the marvel vs capcom games...

See, Street Fighter vs. X-men is still one of my favorite Coin-Op games hands down. Granted, the Marvel vs. Capcom games got a little too "busy" for my taste and I had no idea WTF was actually going on.

I am confused, which game had the players jumping all over the screen with the annoying arrows showing where the ground chars are? I must admit that I was pretty terrible at any arcade fighting game. I never took the time (nor quarters) to master the moves. I used to watch ppl play them in the arcades. About the only arcade game I mastered was arkanoid. I could beat it with one quarter. It took quite a bit of time to beat all of the levels. So the one quarter was more than worth it

Well, they both did. Or rather I should say, all the "vs." games did (except the vs. SNK –this was a more "pure" fighter). But the Mvs.C editions were just really over the top, the XMen one was a little more direct. It came before the Marvel vs. games did.

How much is that controller? I prefer if the HK, HP buttons were on the face of the controller instead of the trigger area. I'd like to see a 360 controller with 6 buttons on the face A,B,C, and 1,2,3, triggers and LB and RB buttons for a total of 10 buttons.

If you can find it in a store, $39.99

But they're going for $75 on ebay.
