Another HR21 remote usage question

I've griped in another thread about the HR21's lack of dual-live buffers and, perhaps more importantly, the inability to switch tuners explicitly. I'm learning to live with things, but it's still not as good an experience as we had w/ the Tivo.

Here's another issue: I start recording on a tuner so that I can switch back to it and rewind, etc. Frequently, I'll hit 'pause' on that tuner before changing channels so that I come back to where I left off. When I do that with the HR21 and then return to that tuner, it's no longer paused - it is immediately playing.

Does that happen to everyone else? Is there a way to keep it paused when I return until I hit 'play'?

Thanks again,

Donnie

That's the way it is, if it's live and recording it and you leave and come back. But if you've already recorded the show and start watching, you can switch to live tv and return back by the prev button and continue watching where you left off on the recording.

Not only must you record the show... you must be watching the recording of the show. It's not enough to just stay on the channel and press the pause button. Be sure to press the record button and then immediately go into the list and begin watching the recording. Then.... pause when you leave to another channel and come back to the pause point using the list.

This is one workaround.

This is one workaround.

That's helpful - I'll try that tonight.

Works everytime for me. I might add though, if it's a show you plan on deleting right after you view, make sure to change channels then change back. If you don't it'll also record the buffer. So when you go to the list and start it, it will start from the beginning of the show not where you want to pause it. Saves you the hassle of having to fast foward to the point you are currently at.
