HD DVR - skipping forward

One of the things I love most about my DirecTV Tivo model is the ability to skip ahead 30 minutes with a push of a button (moving from hash mark to hash mark, whether 15 or 30 minutes). It's great when I'm trying to watch a sports program and want to flash to the later game.

On my HD DVR (20?), the only way I've figured out how to do that is to hold down the FF button for awhile, which takes way too long. Is there any other way to do this that I haven't found?

Thanks.

Press & hold is the only way to advance to the next tick mark.

sigh... one more reason to lament the change, I guess.

Thanks.

When I've done it holding down the FF button for "awhile" to jump to the next tick mark is only a few seconds. Doesn't seem like "way to long" to me. That's just me I guess.

Press & hold works OK when the remote is in IR mode, but it does not work as well when in RF mode. :(
I usually just ffwd 4x to make large time jumps.

A few seconds would be an improvement over my box's performance. I'm looking at about 4-5 seconds per tick mark at best (yeah, I guess that could be a "few"), which gets a little long when you're trying to flash ahead to the 3 or 4 hour mark of a long game.

Compare that to my DirecTV TIVO box upstairs, where a push of a button moves to the next mark. Moving ahead to a later spot in the game is an extremely fast process.

Just one more thing they can look to improve as they get these things up to speed.
