Thoughts on Sharp Aquos lc52se94u

Was wondering if anyone out there had this set or any info as to how well it performs pq wise and maybe any experience with sharp period, as i have never owned a sharp product. Does it stack up to the other t.v.s in its class meaning ones with the same features and such?

Sharp makes a great product. We personally have gotten nothing but raves on these new units. These units are coming with Sharps premier service meaning they garantee next day in home service if a person ever runs into an issue with there unit. This is Sharps newest piece and there flagship line ;)

None but the most critical viewer, and perhaps not even they, will see any difference in picture quality.

Have had my Aquos LC-52D92U for about a year. The picture and features are outstanding; HD on this set is breathtaking.

The built-in speakers, however are a different story. They distort with any low-frequency content. Sharp replaced them once, replaced the board that supplies them also - no improvement. Of course, the sound through my external Hi-Fi system is superb, but for news broadcasts, etc. I frequently want to bypass my external sound system (cut down on the electric bill), and the Sharp speakers don't suffice.

Aquos customer service has been outstanding. They called me this morning to tell me they're upgrading me to the latest model Aquos at no charge! Have read reviews of the new set and I can't wait for it!

Bottom line: be prepared to limit your speaker use to an external system on any but the newest model Aquos - and surf the net regarding speaker quality of the new models.

I believe the Sharp Aquos and Toshiba Regza to have a superior picture to the other two brands you mentioned and I have compared hundreds of them side by side.

I agree with New User. You will find that the border (Bezel Edge) of the top-end model lines of the Sharp and Toshiba are actually thinner than some Other lines. These 2 companies are tops in the LCD arena.

I only had the room for a 42" Aquos...we have a bright room and can always see the picture sharp...I have no Complaints even bought a 19" with built in DVD from Sharp... I wouldn't think twice about buying another....Maybe I do need HD in the Garage....:eyecrazy

Well i got the t.v. and its all hooked up now and I think it is absolutely awesome. The pq is tops and the colors are amazing. First set I recieved from dell had a defect in it and I had to get a replacement set but that went really smooth actually. About half way across the screen at the very top was this dark spot almost like a shadow that never went away it was really wierd. I almost changed my mind right there about getting the sharp but decided to give it another try and Im glad I did. I still gotta run a calibration disc on it, which im actually pretty worried about since all the problems with banding sharp is said to have, dont wanna see it you know cause then its makes you notice always. Everything Ive seen so far on the replacement is top notch though. Sd channels even look tremendusly better than they did on my samsung LNS4692D t.v. that has now been moved to the bedroom.

Glad to hear you like it. From what I have heard, the banding issue is being or has been resolved for the most part.
