A BB employee has posted on AVS that they have the new Pioneer 5020 in their system, and the MSRP is IDENTICAL to the suggested US price ($4K). It's about time we saw parity with the US on Pioneer pricing! Normally we pay at least a $1K premium up north.

This matches up with a post from a Pioneer rep in Montreal who also said Canadian MSRP will be the same as the US.

:)

Now if they'd only do the same with Panasonic!

As of today 1.00 USD = 1.00314 CAD

Panasonic will have to react to this at some point. The gap between the high end Pannys and the Kuros will be too small, and you'll get more and more people willing to fork out a little extra rather than a fortune to get a Pio. I bet we'll see a price drop fo the Pannys by July. Overall, this is great news for HDTV buyers in Canada!
