latest update messed up my signal numbers

All my transponders were 0's. It was weird 'cause I was still getting all my channels(I use the 5 LNB HR21). I noticed something was wrong because none of my recordings were working. I just rebooted and all my signal strength came back to the 95 and 100's. Did anyone experience this? Also was are 99(s) and 103(s) zeroes?

Thanks in advance.

I've had that happen where Tuner 1 has all 0's and Tuner 2 is ok. The picture will look normal, until I change to another channel. A reset cleared up my problem.

ya i wonder why that happens?

Also why are 99(s) and 103(s) zeroes?

Don't worry about that anyway. as long as your dish is properly tuned your service won't be affected. But I would force another software download in 2 or 3 months. Bug fixes.

Why would you need to force an update in 2-3 months when they are downloaded automatically as soon as they are available in your area??

These are the spotbeam sats. If you are not getting HD locals, you can ignore the numbers on 99(s) and 103(s).

Detroit HD locals are on 103(s). There should be 4 or 5 transponders with signal strengths over 80 on 103(s).

I don't know what to think if that's the case. Should I reboot? Everything seems to be working fine.

If you start having problems with the HD locals, I would reboot. Otherwise, I would leave it alone.

Hi mcveebee. I think the detroit locals are on 103(c). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi mcveebee. I think the detroit locals are on 103(c). Correct me if I'm wrong.
103(c) is "conus", which means everyone in the US can receive the channels. 103(s) is "spotbeam", which means only a specific area can receive the channels. All HD locals are spotbeams, so they will be on either 99(s) or 103(s). It is kind of confusing, since all of 103(c) and part of 103(s) are actually on the same satellite (Directv10).

Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. When Directv 11 is finalized, will you need to be within the spotbeams to receive the new channels? Sorry if this does not make sense.

Directv11 will be performing double-duty, like Directv10. It will have national HD channels on 99(c) that everyone can get, and HD locals on 99(s) that only people inside the spotbeam can get.

I would think the PBS channels would be part of the HD locals, which means they would be on your local HD spotbeam (99s or 103s).
