hmm.... its sad to say.. unbelievable isnt it.. and i was rather looking forward to this game this year.. wow.. i cant believe another huge delay.. man whats going on? ... well at least look at the bright side.. the more delays usually means the game turns out to be better..

i dont have a exact source, but its all over the internet, they JUST announced it afew hours ago at the Playstation Day Event.... supposely there is going to be a playable demo later today for KZ2..

was killzone 1 any good?

was holding back Army of Two for 6 months + worth it making it better?

i cant recall in recent years any release of any game being pushed back turning out to be good? they all end up just being average games?

Killzone was really bi-polar. Some loved it, some hated, but in the end it was no Halo-Killer.

I enjoyed it, just get use to the controllers.

Killzone 1 was way too slow paced for my liking. Not to say this will reflect onto Killzone 2, but it was a serious issue with the original title.

Also in Killzone 1, I don't remember having fought anything other than the typical Helghast troops. It was just wave after wave of the same type of guy...

Hopefully Guerilla has taken both of these things and improved them.

Heh...another big exclusive delayed. This can't be too surprising since they never really showed actual gameplay.

I won't hold back here. Killzone 1 was TERRIBLE! I was really looking forward to it, but the mechanics were terrible, the level design was terrible (Halo 2 is piss poor with the whole battle in a large area, funnelled through a corridor like section, all opens out to battle in a large area, funneled back into corridor style section again, rinse repeat) Killzone was just like that, only it was square sections of level with barbed wire around it.

Controls were slow and clunky, the only real things to harp about, were the games "universe" was certainly interesting, and the visuals were pretty decent except they run at about 5fps.

Killzone 2's hype is just like it's originals, "ZOMG LOOK AT THOSE AMAZING RENDERS!" I really hope they turn it around for the sequel, but it's certainly going to seriously have to earn a purchase from me, and not from bought off/bias reviews like the last game had. (it got straight 9/10s in the mainstream mags, I believe Edge magazine was the only one that called it for the sad excuse of a game it was). If you want to be excited about a game, please pick anything other than this, tbh Haze is a far better bet.

As for Army of Two, I have to say I really enjoyed it despite it's flaws, but it could certainly have been a lot better. Hopefully the download content due soon might fix the glitches as well as adding 2 new levels that should really have been in the original games campaign (6 missions inc the training mission was pathetic ) It was enjoyable and solid though IMO.

KZ 1 was the first game I ever beat. I loved it. However, going back, the controls are pretty funky. There were different levels of Helghast troops also, some pretty tough to take down and upgraded weapons. I just liked the story line and graphics, it felt right to me at the time.

KZ1 was one of those games that was really too much for the PS2 hardware to handle. Hopefully they get everything they hoped for in KZ2. From what I hear the budget should be nearing 70 million by now.

Wow Insomniac is getting 2 Resistance games out before Killzone 2.. plus they also had Rathet & Clank...

So if this game becomes anything less than stellar, we can't blame it on development issues?

Oh the pressure... pop fizz pop.

Killzone 1 had a development team of around 30 people. Killzone 2 has over 200. I'm certainly keeping an eye on it, but the first one was so bad... it was horrible, it was clearly restricted by the PS2 though as you say.

always better to push a game then to rush it and put it out on the market with glitches and bugs and what not, we all know that c'mon now... titles like MGS, final fantasy series and gran turismo that always always get pushed back, end up being amazing and practically flawless at the end.

however i have to say that pushing this title this far, is alittle over board. from the first trailer back in 2005 to the release date 2009, thats 4yrs. and im pretty sure the game started development prior to the 2005 trailer.. so its safe to say KZ2 has been in development for probably 5-6hrs. thats crazy, but then again titles like MGS4 and final fantasy XIII have been in development for just as long, remember FFXIII started development for the PS2, it was suppose to be a PS2 title, so can you imagine how long THAT ONE has been in development for (6-7yrs maybe?). .. again, im not overly hyped about KZ2, but i am sure looking forward to it, especially with the gameplay footage they are showing at this stage, the final game BETTER blow me away. if the final game gets busted and ends up being mediocre at best.. then it was a completely waste of time and money and it'll be a really big shame on sony...
