I never got my Star Trek Phaser, is there a number I can call?

I sent in my forms around the beginning of January, did a google search and saw that people were getting them a week after sending them in, so I just wanted to call and (nicely) ask them where the hell my phaser is.

This will surely suck if I can't get it, I don't need another reason to regret buying HD DVD.

Welcome to the forum! :hithere:

Did you make a copy of the rebate form? If you did there is likely a phone number on that you could call.

Good luck!

Don't think I did make a copy. Does anyone still have theirs?

Try this number or address. This is from my packing slip. :)

BTW you did include the $7.95 for shipping didn't you?

Well, I called only to find that they had no record of my order. The phaser was the thing that pushed me off the fence into buying this set, I guess I should have just kept my money. Or at least sent the forms in by registered mail or something.

(and yes, I included the check for $7.95, it was never cashed).

Well, you still have a great movie player, and if you hurry you can still get some great HD movies for it! :what:

No I don't. I sold it along with the Star Trek set and its POS packaging after the Warner announcement. It wasn't that great of a player either, it froze up on several of the Star Trek discs and a couple movies like Shaun of the Dead. Any other "great movies" I want I'll wait for the Blu-ray.

Oh well, you probably just needed to update the firmware. :what:

That wasn't the problem. I had the latest firmware at the time on my A3, 1.3. And I tried re-initializing and cleaning the disc like people say to do. I even had Amazon send me a new copy of Shaun. It still froze in about the same place.

My A3 was moody too. The A20 I have now is better, but still has it's quirks. When they do decide to play a movie, they work great.

Well no more play back issues here! :what:

BTW why would you want the Phaser HD DVD Remote if you don't have a player anymore?
you DID know it was a remote and not a REAL Star Trek phaser, right?

To sell on eBay. What other reason do you think most people would have for one?

You can actually mod it with a blue laser diode. The lasers in HD DVD and BD drives are hot enough to burn through paper, and leave a good mark on a co-worker;)

Most people don't have HD DVD players. Most people would rather have the money, unless they're a hardcore trekker with a thing for obsolete technology.

Sorry this does not make any sense to me! :what:

Most people don't have HDTVs and have absolutely no need for HD DVD or BD, but YOU apparently did, right?!

This whole thread has been about YOU and not "Most People!"

"Most people would rather have the money"!......uh yea....and?

So when you bought your HD DVD player and you send in the form for the Phaser and the $7.95, did YOU have a thing for obsolete technology? No?! Well, neither did anyone else who sent in for this! :banghead:

And even if they did, I'm sure that you have heard of concept of Collector's Items!

Oh I know, it's SUCH a difficult concept that I'd rather make back some of the money I spent on one of Paramount's expensive-ass boxsets than keep a gimmicky remote  Even if I did still have that POS Toshiba A3, I'd just use the regular remote, I'd have no need for another.

So you are upset because you didn't get the Phaser remote to only sell it correct?

Hindsight is 20/20 so in the future you should ALWAYS make a copy of everything you send in for special offers/rebates.

Lesson learned.

I am not judging you, I am just tying to understand you. :what:
