Dish Network Ordered By The FCC To Carry Universal's Music Video Channel Starting Fri

I was looking up a stock quote of Dish Network today and their stock is down. There was a sentence under the stock quote that said ..Dish Network forced by the court and FCC to now carry Universal's Video Music Channel starting this Friday.Dish said they will do that.
From what I read..Dish Network had signed a contract with universal to carry that channel by a certain date-and Dish did not do it-They went against the contract they had signed with Universal.
Dish said they will abide by the court ruling...but will continue to fight Universal by other means.

Sounds cool . . . MTV doesn't show videos anymore . . . MTV2 is ok but getting to be the same. Anyone else think we have too may music channels??

I personally love the SIRIUS channels, way above and beyond over anything MTV and MTV2 offer. I don;t really care for VH1 either, but VH1 Classic has some GREAT programs on it.

The only thing I'm wondering is if the Universal channel is only going to have music from Universal performers....? Because then THAT would be a major waste of bandwidth.

Is this going to increase our rates? Just wondering why Dishnetwork would resist an aggreement that they made.

They probably realised they could get 14 Mandarin Chinese channels for the same price. :D
