I just received my 722 & i cannot get it to work. What happens is the show will come on or i'll get just a black screen. Then it goes to aquiring satellite signal. It goes back & forth. I've called Dish numerouse times & there not sure. They claim they were having issues in my area. But my 622 works fine. Finally last night it started working fine & i shut it off & went to bed. When i got up this morning it could not even aquire a sat signal. Is this box junk or is dish having issues with the sat & the 722 box. I also swapped the cables from the 622 box.

I have been having trouble with my 722 also. Been with Dish for five weeks now and twice I have had to call because of "technical" issues. Yesterday I had the 'Acquiring satalite signal' dialog box which didnt want to aquire anything. Restarting didnt fix it, signal strength was good for 110 and 119, but 61.5 was zero. After calling tech and going thru the usual checks, they decided they needed to send someone to fix it under the 90 day warrenty' he said. I am renting the box, so what is that about??? Anyhow, an hour later, the "problem" rectified itself, as it did the last time it didn't want to work. It behaved I thought, like a software error. Either that or a satalite signal failure. Either way, I am pissed that they would be intending to charge me to fix the 'problem' should it fall outside the initial 90 day period.
As a P.S. I asked the tech guy what HD channels were expected to come online and when, and he dug out a long list including 'watching paint dry', in HD and 'watching grass grow', in HD. I asked speciifically about Speed TV HD and he said that wouldnt be this year. Bummer :(

I've lost 129 on my 722 since 4/22. I haven't called yet but I don't have a good feeling about this....

Swap places with the 622 and 722, it might be a wiring or seperator problem.

My 722 arrived missing the splitter. Dish tech told me i could use any tw way sat splitter. This is what caused all of my problems. Once i removed the splitter & hooked it up as a single tuner it worked fine. Dish is mailing me out the splitter.

They are coming today between 12:30pm EST and 5 to diagnose the problem. Only issue I have is it is costing me $49 for the visit, I didn't buy dish home advantage. I had a dish 501 from 1999 to late 2007 and never had a single issue so I didn't think I needed to buy the coverage.

The little do-dad they are sending you is actually called a separator. Hopefully they remember to send you the 2 three inch long co-ax cables as well. You will need that too.

They came and had to repoint the dish, it was way out of whack. Good news is the HD looks better than ever; I'm a believer in the stronger the signal the better the picture.

What kind of dish do you have? A Dish 501 will not likely pick up 129 in addition to 110 and 119. I have two dishes for these satellites (one is for 129). If you have one dish it should be a 1000...

Have you been getting 129 since 1999? If not, somebody has ponted your dish in the meantime. I hope they didn't charge you $49 to correct their dish pointing!

What the heck is a Dish 501? No such thing. If you have one dish getting 110, 119 and 129 then you either have a Dish 1000 or 1000.2.

PS.. the 1000.2 is said to work much better but I am not one to say as I am in New York. Here we need 2 dishes for HD. A Dish 500 (for 110 and 119) and a Dish 300 (for 61.5). Also, some folks out in the west have an easier time with a second dish pointed at 129. That works too.

Everyone please check your facts before posting or others will get totally confused.

Sorry guys. I have a 1000.2 now for all 3 channels. I had the simple SD predecessor from 99-07, the sat box was called the Dish PVR501 I believe, I'm not sure what the actual simple dish antenna was called. So I did pay $49 for a repoint but the guy said the first install in January 08 was terrible and he got it to do very well now. He also cleaned up all the old lines (first guy left them hanging) as well as redid the connections outside the house to look much cleaner. I didn't intentionally post the wrong terms.

This makes more sense. Before you probably had a Dish 500 or maybe a Dish 300 pointing at 119 only. If the face of the dish was tilted sideways a bit with 2 LNB's in front of it, it was the 500. One LNB in front of the dish and not tilted but just looking up is a 300. Notice your 1000.2 has 3 LNB's and the face is tilted a bit as well.
