Image Trails on Sony Bravia HDTV

Hope someone can offer some help and / or advice. i have a 46' Sony Bravia 1080p, to which I have connected an upconvert 1080i dvd player and Sony PS3, both via HDMI cables. I have noticed medium to severe image trails when watching blu-ray via PS3, light to medium image trails when watching upconvert dvd player and hd content via cable (coax cable connection). TV HD content 720p - 1080i. I have the proprietary cinemotion setting on the TV set to auto, but the trails persist. Has anyone noticed this and / or been able to remedy? I have called Sony and they couldn't help, only referred me to authorized Sony service center in the area. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Turn off the Cinemotion garbage and see if that fixes it. I have noticed that 120Hz seems to increase trailing behind fast motion. It seems the processing is not up to par of what it should be. Ask any 69/71/A650 Samsung owner with their dreaded "triple ball effect."

If you insist on having the Cinemotion on, turn it to the lowest setting possible. The set most likely isn't defective, so I wouldn't worry about that quite yet.

thanks for the help. i tried it but still noticed trails. could this be correlated with poor quality hdmi cables??? i bargain shopped on amazon. paid maybe $3 something for no name cables. the more and more i pay close attention to the coax connection, i actually don't even notice any trails. just on upconvert dvd and ps3. which reminds me, my xbox is connected via component cables and i have downloaded hd content from xbox live and don't remember seeing any image trails then.

by the way, what is the triple ball effect?

thanks again!

No it is not the cables.
