Okay, I remember you guys were posting the other day that you needed pre order the special addition MGS in order to beta test it or get the code for it or something.... so when I saw the MGS online beta on the PSN store I jumped at the chance to download it. it took a little while to download but nothing that bothered me, then I had to install it, then download the update (that roughly took 10 hours +) install the update, then install some sort of game save to HDD. Once all this was done I went to go play it online then bam, I needed a Konami I.d. and a game I.d. which really took the biscuit filling it out because I had to make alphanumeric usernames and passwords that had to be s certain lengh, so now I dont remember them, after that, Konami didnt send me the confirmation email which P****D me off because now I definatly dont remember my username or password, but anyway I pressed on thinking I will have to guess, then bam! the beta has been prostponed due to technical crap becuase theirs to many people - by then I have pretty much gaven up but I would like to ask some questions.

1. Whats happening with the European Beta

2. How the hell would I be able to get my username and password (maybe some sort of link when it goes "i have forgot my password?)

3. Whats was the point of preordering the special adition to get that special I.D. thing (is there more maps?)

4. Are any of you here getting simular problems?

Sorry that its like a long post. And that it may not make sense in some party (im a lil drunk)

All help will be apreciated.

I hate to say it, but I think you've wasted a lot of time you could have been playing an actual game.

The whole point of pre-ordering was to get the beta code that will actually let you play. Kind of like a registration key. You can install software to your computer, but in some instances, if you don't have an installation/registration key to input, the software will shutdown immediately.

Okay I get your point, but if you needed the Beta code, why would they advertise it on the PSN store for free??

Because it is a free download for anyone that has the Beta Code. Sony doesn't have a clue who all has a beta code and who doesn't. That was handled strictly by Konami and retailers.

The game itself is only available for download from the PSN.

Personally, I think this should have been done like the Killzone beta was. We all got a disc and it worked from there. The Pre-ordered MGS stuff should have had a disc associated with it. But that's just me.

well that was a waste of time then, I just can imagine how many people must of made the same mistake as me...:banghead:

Actually, if I remember right - isn't it an open Beta in Europe while it is a selective beta in the US?

If I read all the articles right (which mind you I could be wrong) Europe doesn't need the beta key.

And on the US side, you can't download the beta without the key (as it doesn't appear on the US PSN page.)

You have to enter the key to get access to the download.

This is what I intepreted everything I've read, if I'm wrong someone can correct me.

No, you're completely correct. Europeans (ACTUAL Europeans, not people with a Euro account) get into the beta for free. If you're from the US you need a code and that you enter in transaction management to be able to download. JJCG sounds like he must be European if he has it in his PS store so he gets in automatically.

JJ, go to the Konami ID website and make a Konami ID and a game ID and when the beta launches you'll be all good.

D'oh! I stand corrected then. Didn't even think he could be from across the pond! How very ethnocentric of me... :o

I do!

There has been a lot of stuff going through EB/GS.

They got to sell the DS3 on Friday, every other store (I checked eheh) were saying not until Tuesday (next week.)

Who would of thought that living in the UK would have an advantage in the games industry...

Now I wish Konami would send me that Damn confirmation email so I can actually remember my username...

Created my Id's yesterday and never got the confirmation letter too.

Just go to Konami and sign in with the Konami ID and you will see that your account is deactivated still pending your activate from the email. So once there click resend confirmation letter and you will get the email the second time around, at least thats how I got it to work.

BTW also make sure you do the whole confirmation within 72 hours of the time you created the accounts, otherwise everything will be lost and you will have to do it all over again.

GL add me if you enter PSN Id is Sufs

JJ and sufs, check your spam mail. It might be in there.

sufs, I think the beta uses the Konami game ID's not PSN ID's. My game ID is latenite55. I'll make an MGO thread when the beta starts and we can all exchange our game ID's and discuss the gameplay and maybe start a clan. :yippee:
