If you go to the System Menu, then Info & Test, it will display the software release version (probably 0x022b). The big changes with 0x022b are audio problem fixes and more show info in the program guide (first air date, actors, etc).

Not an employee, just participating in some of the user testing on the other boards and reading the other posts & Directv press releases. And have been using the HR20 since they first came out in Sep-2006.

Exactly! Don't make his head any bigger! He just reads other boards, as alot of us do!

You still need to provide the software version (check the info page under settings) and the receiver model, and we can then tell you what the additions may be.

I couldn't agree more with you mcbeevee. You are a great help to this D* section of the forum.
Saving many of us alot of time & searching on the net to find what we want all the time. When I post a problem with my D* service I appreciate the help of everyone, but I gotta be honest mcbeevee is someone I always hope puts his two cents in on my post.

Please keep it up as your knowledge of D* is no doubt appreciated by many like myself.:)

Thanks mcbeevee, keep up what you do here. I'm fairly new to the DirecTV scene, and the times i've posted and you replied, it's been helpful.

It is a drawing of Cartman. I think it was in one of the South Park episodes.

The avatar is from one episode of South Park where the boys were missing. That was how the sketch artist drew Cartman. :)

Really?? You post did not provide any insight on the latest contents of the update. At least I post what has changed/added so all (even people that may be lurking) know.

You could have at least referred him to DBST.com to find out.

That's okay, I took care of it! It's all good!

The big changes with 0x022b are audio problem fixes and more show info in the program guide (first air date, actors, etc).

So this is not considered insight? I could have copied & pasted all that other stuff which means nothing to most people. Why would I try to drive people away by continually pointing to the other boards? In case you have not noticed, that is the reason you can't post links to the other boards here. I guess your plan to keep this board alive is to send everyone to another board??

I still have not received this update yet. Has anyone else in Connecticut received it?

Also, for those of you that did receive it, is the touted improved audio a correction so the audio better matches the timing of the video so they are now in sync?

Is there any point in me trying to force a download or will I just get the same version I already have until DTV decides to release the download to this region of the country?

No point at all... You will not get the update until it's released to your area.

Is there ever a delay from when DTV releases the upgrade to a particular area and when the unit actually gets to download it?

there is a schedule as i understand it that applies differently to each of the 3 models and the area of the country, not sure what that is but i recall that is how it works

Even after the update, I guess HR20's still don't have the ability to title search off your favorites, not all channels.

I got my update yesterday, but the receiver locked up after it was finished. I had to reset the receiver and then it worked fine. Is this normal for an HR-21?

I finally got mine yesterday as well. I will have to look at it a bit closer tonight to see if I can notice any difference.
