Existing Direct TV customer wants HD

Hello,
We chose the DVR option when we contracted with Direct TV. Our two year contract will be up in October but we would like to upgrade to HD. Does anyone know what kind of costs I am looking at for this upgrade? I understand I will need a new dish and receiver in addition to the $10 a month HD fee. Do they offer any promotions to existing customers? Would it be better to wait until our contract is up and then try to negotiate?

Thanks,
Pam

For a HD-DVR and the upgrade, somewhere around $100 + $20 for s+h. They will want a new 2 year commitment. Never forget to ask for the HD or DVR packages free for a period of time, something off the monthly bill, free Showtime, and, especially, some break on Sunday Ticket, you should be able to get Superfan for free.
