if you had calibrated set, u have to do it again. i would not recommend to change fw. my board was replaced may 07, no issues after that.

I have this set, What happenned to your system that required repair?

What symptoms did it give?

How long after purchase did it fail?

Like to know so if mine "sneezes" I know what to do

i was having a grainy picture very often and it didnt look right to me. i can say this, when i calibrated it using AVIA or DVE on the brightness test pattern where there is supposed to be three vertical gray bars i only had two but didnt think anything of it other than the fact that maybe this was all my tv was capable of. now with the new board after clibrating i have all three vertical gray bars visible, which leads me to believe that the first was certainly defective. i can say that this new board does make the tv look better, BUT BUT BUT

now i have an issue with speed or processing. sometimes on some shows and movies it looks choppy, almost like the camera is shaking or something, like the tv cant keep up with the speed. i did not have this with the original one, so now i do not know what to do.
