Washington, D.C. (April 8, 2008) -- Comcast says it will soon add more than 20 High-Definition channels in central Illinois.

That's according to an article by the Peoria Journal Star.

The publication reports that Comcast added Disney Channel HD and ABC Family in HD on April 1, but plans to add 21 more high-def networks by April 30.

The list of upcoming channels includes WGN HD, which carries the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox games. Despite that programming strength, WGN HD is still a relative rarity in cable and satellite lineups.

Here's a list of the HD channels that Comcast plans to add this month in central Illinois:

A&E HD, AMC HD, Animal Planet HD, Cinemax HD, CNN HD, Comcast SportsNet Chicago HDTV, Discovery HD, Food Network HD, HGTV HD, MOJO, National Geographic HD, NFL Network HD, Sci-Fi HD, Starz HD, TBS in HD, The History Channel HD, TLC HD, USA HD, Versus/Golf Channel HD and WGN HD
