Just leave all of the resolution boxes checked. I have Ratchet & Clank and COD4. Both are 720p games and look fantastic at 720p. I tried unchecking 720p as well and I had some goofy lines on the bottom of the screen and the picture didn't look any better at 1080p on Ratchet & Clank. I don't know why they put 1080p on the back of the box. Your TV should also upconvert the picture to 1080p even though its putting out a 720p signal.

I've looked at COD4 on my XBox 360 at 1080p and it looks the same as 720p on my PS3. I think the XBox is just upconverting the signal.

Does anyone know why a 360 with an HDMI always puts out 1080p, but a PS3 with an HDMI puts out a different signal depending on the game? Does the 360 just have better upconverting?
