I was waiting patiently to pick up my finacee from school as she's going for her master's yesterday. I've been wanting a TV for some time now and she's been wanting a laptop. On the way home I surprised her by turning into the BB that's on the way home and we made a b line to the laptops. Long story short, we got one.

I've been going back and forth with TV's for some time. We wanted something for the living room first and foremost, and perhaps a smaller LCD for our bedroom. I didn't want too big of a TV for our living room so I was going back and forth between 32", 37", 40" and 42" screens. I ran the gamut from Vizio and Dynex to Sony & Samsung.

We then toyed with the idea of getting 2 lower tier TV's so that we could have one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Then it became the idea of just getting one quality TV for the living room and skip the bedroom altogether.

This time yesterday I was set on getting the 4061 for about $1,200. I had already placed an order through monoprice for some cables earlier in the day. That was before we got to the store and stared for another hour. We liked the 4061 but then the clerk turned on the Sony 40V3000 that was turned off for some reason. This TV just seemed to have a much better picture than the Samsung. My parents already own the 40V25000 which has been great so we ended up walking out with the 40V3000.

I was watching TV within 10 minutes of getting home. I tested out my Wii and laptop connections too and everything seems great. The only downside is that I don't have my HDMI cables yet. They should be here in a few days.

Oh, I also ordered a PS3 that should be here in the next few days too. Can't wait to install everything and finally get my surround sound system operational again too!

I got the 4061 instead of the 2500, I did get the Sony first but took it back after the poor blacks and bad dvd display, but the Blu-Ray and HD picture is outstanding, enjoy!

Decisions, decisions! Congrats. At least it sounds like you'll both be happy! Enjoy the toys.
