With the launch of DTV11 has DTV announced what cities and when HD locals will be provided? I'm in the Columbia, MO Market. Thanks!

Directv made the following announcement back in Dec-07, but only said mid-2008 for the listed cities. Also, there have been other cities not on the list (like mine) that started getting HD locals without any announcement at all.

DIRECTV to Deliver Local HD Programming In 76 Markets by Mid-2008 (http://dtv.client.shareholder.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=286399)

I am in the Mobile-Pensacola area. Our DMA was 62. Doesn't mean a thing. They have done one way out there before us. STILL DON"T have my locals in HD. I have complained to the higher ups and it has fell on deaf ears I quess. Been emailing them ever month for 2 years saying where in my#$*&!! locals in HD. I have tried the sugary approach and the mean approach. None have worked. MID 2008. Doubt it very much!!!!

What did you think they were going to do, magically give you local HDs without a satellite up there to provide it for you? Those emails didn't get a bird up there any faster. When it comes to satellite, you are at their mercy as they can't provide anything to you until it's available to them.

Stonedog. Lighten up. I talked with the some of the higher up's on the phone. They promised that the Mobile Pensacola area was on the slate for turn on a year and a half ago. I am well versed on TV,FM, Satellite signals and so on. I have been a amatuer radio operator for 35 years. We bounce signals off the moon with satelites to talk around the world. I am well aware of the bandwith issue. It's just that when you promise something, you should be able to deliver it.

I am too (LOZ actually) and the last I heard for our area from my TV dealer was about 3 months? We'll see.

If I'm not mistaken, Mobile/Pensacola was announced for a late 2006 launch, prior to a needed D10 or D11 launch. Then it was moved to a late 2007 launch - now nothing.

In a press release dated Oct. 10, 2006, DirecTV announced HD LIL for Mobile/Pensacola "by the end of the year".

So "hamdude1's" complaint isn't related to D11 (or even D10), it's related to D* pushing Mob/Pen back years for some unknown reason.

My point exactly. I have been lied to by Directv CSR's, higher up's, Customer Service Supervisor's, and so on. This is almost mid 2008. DTV needs to get stuff together. I am 100 miles from the nearest tranmitter site. OTA is out of the question. I think I ahve a valid bitch.

I hear ya hamdude1! I'm about 1/2 way between Pensacola and Panama City (closer to PC) I can pull in both OTA sometimes but PC is 154 DMA while Pen/Mob is 61! So I would love to see Pen/Mob added to the HD lineup.

I have "moved" into a Pen/Mob range to get SD because PC is not up in SD yet (while all surrounding areas; Pen/Tall/Dothan) are in SD. Dothan is even lower in DMA than PC (172), BTW, yet they are now in SD on D*!

Why can't D* add the 61'st largest market in HD?!
