Yes in a way I was... I need to cool down.. I am okay again.. Yesterday I got sick real back I think it was something I had ate at at Friendly's for lunch. Walked around at Wal-Mart feeling faint... While trying to get some Raspberry Soda.. Keep on running out of that stuff..

Oh you have the hard drinks too.. I have them locked away! The kind that are over proof more than 200 proof.. You get this when you travel as I do a lot of traveling leave the USA prior years. Some stuff I've never opened since 1999. Beer not here.. Wine is!

No I have that movie, we haven't watched it yet.. Good you like it! I am Legend wasn't that great.. I've seen 6 times. As when everyone comes over here they want to see it. Not much I could recommend as prior year didn't have much hits. I had some pre-screener tickets you get in for free up to 2 people. Those were okay...

I know guys that all they did 7/7 I use to hang out with. I did try Beer just doesn't taste right to me. Wine or like one girl bartender told me try Seven-Up with a Twist of Lime. Makes you look like your drinking hard drinks. No I don't drink when I get mad... I don't handle that stuff to well, I kind of change in a way.. (can of loose it) that's why it's locked up with a key. I forget where I hid the stuff?

I can only guess that tippy must mean traveling to the distant universes that he often visits where the laws of chemestry and physics are different and certainly more advanced than in our simple universe.

Intelligent and informed people know that 200 proof is 100% alcohol by volume.
So let's see . . . "more than 200 proof" would be more than 100% . . . must be some form of "higher" math.

Who knows . . . . only tippy knows.
I'm not going to say he's a fool . . . cuz that wouldn't be nice . . . . so I'm not gonna say it . . . .

A word to the wise....

If your don't know you should ask?
If your still not sure don't ask!

In this case you don't know that Barcadi 151 was 150 overproof RUM
or what they call high-proof. What you not going to know is that Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum 200 overproof but not sold in the USA with that proof more like 80 proof.

No you're learn something today from me... Like you're have with the coax. :hithere:

Be back next Friday with this post all...

If it is 200 proof it would be (by definition) 100% pure alcohol- if it si 100% alcohol, it can't be rum- it would be just alcohol.
The strongest liquor produced commercially is Everclear, which is 190 proof (95%) grain alcohol. It is not available for sale in all states

That maybe so, but this stuff is made for years and it's been rated as 200 proof. Only Bacardi 151 would come in second high-proof. Listen this is not sold here! You have to buy it in the islands. Here has to much restrictions for high-proof. Moonshine has high-proof also, but you don't see me drinking that stuff. Very Strong Rum that burns my cheat straight is mix into punch, easter bun and things like that! When I use it you can know that you'll leave here happy! :hithere:

Again, 200 proof = 100% alcohol = can't be rum (feels like I'm trying to prove the earth is round here...)Bicardi 151 is strong, but Everclear and a couple other grain alcohols have higher alcohol percentages.

Not knocking you on this point, but I had grown up using this product over proof RUM since I was born. Mom use it to help with the pain associated with colds can be rub into the chest, stick up your nose using tissue to stop nose dripping and put in your hot tea for your cough, Everyone the island knows that it's 200 Proof and the maker claim it to be.. I can't display pictures of the bottle as this is the a forum for that. But in the USA it's only 70-80 proof. Just not the same.. Two years ago I was on the Island of St. Martin and found it for $6.99 USD a bottle and had purchased everything he had and sneak it over back here in the Luggage. US Inspectors never checked our luggage coming back into the USA. I was coming off a cruise ship.. Never again on those ships...

You really need to do some homework on Google before you post. It will really help you avoid these confrontations that you get into. By checking your "facts" first - you will know if your own info is correct or not. Google is YOUR friend.

The "overproof" is nothing more than a marketing name. The rum itself is less than 70% alcohol:

http://www.ministryofrum.com/rumdetails.php?r=398

Some advice for those responding to his posts - at least try to take the high road and correct him with facts using links so he can read from other sources as opposed to having him accept your word as fact.

If you think it is "cool" or fun to make fun of him . . . you run the risk of being admonished by Cass - not something you want to happen.

Trying helping instead of laughing. That is what HDF is supposed to be about BTW.

That's good advise . . . actually excellent advice. However, let the record show that he has, on uncountable occasions, been directed to accurate and factual links. Even then, he holds his ground, no matter how far from correct or accurate he may be.

Anyway, I'm going to stay out of this one. 80 proof is enough for me anyway.

I understand what you are saying. There are other(s) here at HDF who do the same thing.

If they refuse to let go their beliefs, which are contrary to what the facts of the matter are - then it is best to just step away from them and probably put them on your IGNORE list.

Negative attention . . . is still attention . . . and some do crave it no matter what.

More helping and less making fun of usually does the trick.

Just remember the line that Michael Pare said in Streets of Fire . . .

"The problem with kicking the crap out of you is . . . it would be too easy."

Hi and welcome to HDF:hithere:

What are some of the uses for such a strong concentration?

Chiisai
03-22-2008, 03:03 PM
Oil companies use it for cleaning and for various things associated with drilling; dry cleaners use it in their cleaning of fabric (along with a chemical called Naptha); IPA can be used with other chemicals to cause a high flash point (fast drying) stripper or parts cleaner. But most mechanics will use mineral spirits for their parts washer. We have some brave souls that will mix the IPA and methanol to make racing fuels, but we cannot sell it as a racing fuel or we would have to charge fuel taxes and be regulated more than we are now. Oil companies will also use straight methanol to "spray" into the pipe lines and well head of natural gas wells to keep the gas from freezing as it comes out of the ground. This month we are adding ethanol to sell to another distrubutor in town and he in turn will add an additive and sell it as a automobile fuel.

First post (and first time owner of an HDTV, it's a LCD Proscan [not the best name, but i've tweaked it for about 10 minutes and got the picture looking good, going to spend a little more time and have it looking great as a friend has one and the picture quality is amazing] 42")

I Am Legend is way over rated. It's an amazing movie the first time you see it and then the second time you start to realize it needs more action and the 3rd time is only because someone else wants to watch it. I guess it also takes away from the first time because you know the entire story and why, what, and how, etc... it's definitely one of those movies you can only watch once to enjoy.

let's see friday i was researching an HDTV so i wasn't really watching one, but come saturday i bought it and still haven't had the privielage of watching HDTV in my own home since comcast was closed before i could run and get an HD box.

Welcome to HDF:hithere:

So this is your first HDTV? Well welcome to the "club.":)

The wonders of HD will amaze you. I will bet you will start to watch programming in HD you never thought you would because you didn't before. Channels like Food HD and HGTV HD really come alive in HD. And of course Discovery HD Theater - The crown jewel of HD programming.

Keep posting - we have a lot of forums here at HDF. And once you get your Comcast HD DVR - make it a point to go over to the Cable Providers Forum and join in. If they give you a Motorola HD DVR - make sure to install the 30 second skip feature on it. There is a sticky thread that shows you how.

See you around the fourms.;)
