I heard this on a classic rock radio station today and then found this article.

I like aerosmith but I feel like this is a bad business move on the GH part.

Yup, been known for a while now.

I don't mind it and I'll be getting it for a few reasons, mainly being Aerosmith is from my hometown and I like many of their songs.

Other being Guitar Hero never seems to get dull with me. I can play the same song over and over and never get tired of it.

It's one of the few games who's reply value is worth it's price tag, IMO of course.

Uhh, this article is from September 2007. There is going to be a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith releasing this summer (I think), and then a real Guitar Hero 4 coming this fall.

You know, Activision is making enough money from this franchise that us fans deserve to get ALL master songs. No more of this cover crap. And where's all the DLC? The only good DLC for Guitar Hero 3 was the Foo Fighters pack.

gh: aerosmith is not an expansion pak, it is its own game. as a matter of fact, they had to revamp the game slightly. something to do with camera angles, co-ops and the fact that there are now 5 people on stage instead of the usual 4. and as far as aerosmith goes, the tracks in the game ARE all masters. supposedly for some of aerosmith's older stuff from their early years, they couldnt find some of the masters so they went back in and recorded them fresh just for the game.

Guitar Hero was ruined for me as soon as Rock Band came out. . .

Let me know when their game comes with a Mic/Drum/Bass accessory.

New rumor is Rock Band: The Beatles

They probably had to trade a testicle from each one of the Activision execs for the rights, but I bet it pays off. (Paul McCartney and Yoko are into collecting exec testies.)

Didn't Michael Jackson buy the rights to all the Beatles songs?

Let me know when Rock Band comes with a decent amount of songs ON THE ACTUAL DISC.

Really? You are complaining about that? There isn't a huge difference in the amount of songs.

Rockband: 58 songs
Guitar Hero 3: 73 songs

15 songs huh? So where does this decent line get crossed exactly?

Guitar Hero is old, and Activision is just going to keep milking you guys time and time again. Harmonix is the real innovators in this industry, and I can't wait to see what they have planned next.

I believe he had to sell them to cover his lawyer fees back when he was in trial. Not sure exactly but I am fairly certain he doesn't own them anymore.

I never bought Rock Band b/c I was having serious lag issues with my receiver on Guitar Hero 3. I think EA is doing a good job with DLC. NIN and Grateful Dead packs, all master tracks. Faith No More- We Care Alot, master track. David Bowie and Black Sabbath packs are cool too, but no master tracks? That's BS... Not that Guitar Hero is any better but where is the complete Nirvana "Nevermind" album DLC though? They said that was going to come out a few months after Rock Band was released...
