I know that im able to invite my friends to a chat room to conversate. I wanted to know if there was a way to send individual friends private voice messages without enterering a chat room.

Thanks!

No. Not right now. Probably in a future update.

I was afraid of that! I was hoping there was a setting that I missed. As you already mentioned, hopefully sony will incorporate that into a future update. I guess ive become spoiled being used to xbox live.

When I used to be on Xbox Live, I got a couple "voicemails" from random people I didn't know. One was just a guy screaching into his mic. Another was a guy playing guitar and moaning.

Umm yeah, I actually think its a decent feature to have, is that ok? its not the best thing since sliced bread or anything, but still nice to be able to shoot my friends a quick hello or "were gaming at such and such time"

i dont see the point to a voicemail/voice message for PSN let alone why live has it. i would find it annoying. i barly ever type messages on PSn to my friends unless something happened (e.g. in the middle of a match i would log off or freeze, i would message that friend telling me i was dc'ed or something).. but to send a voice message? what would be the point. you'll start to get a bunch of voice shit from other players in your inbox and end up deleting all of them before you hear them..

I got this cool gadget. It's called a telephone.

See, what I do is, call the person I want to play PS3 with on this telephone. I call it a phone for short.

Check'em out. I think they sell them.............EVERYWHERE:lol:

;)

Yeah, PSN will get the FW update soon enough. Until then. There's always the telephone

Good points Eddie, speaking for myself though, it would just be more of a convenience instead of having to use the screen keypad with my controller. Again, thats me, I never said it was for everyone.

I never see you online. It's been months!
I also really need to get a headset. To be honest, I'm scared what names my fiancee will call me...and then all the people she's going to tell. Oh it would not be good.

I think it was you who said you didn't like Burnout Paradise?? I really like this game. I love all of the variety you can do. What I hate is the amount of times I get kicked off from online mode. That's the only thing that's preventing me from buying the game. But oh well, I've got GTA4 in site. Headset....?....not sure yet.

Hey Steve, I just bought this headset off Amazon. Right now it's on sale with a $20 rebate. Final cost $4.99. Works great. Here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980174-0403-Vantage-USB-Headset/dp/B00008KXG5/ref=pd_bbs_sr_10?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1205752657&sr=8-10

Thanks for that information!!! Much appreciated. I'm going to look for a bluetooth though. I don't want any wires hanging.

You're kidding, right? I see you online more than most people on this forum. You're usually playing Resistance or MotorStorm when I see your name.

When are you two getting married? My girl and I are getting married in May. We've been together for a little over 10 years so this is gonna be a "finally" kinda thing. She tolerates my PS3 playing because I spend plenty of time with her and I'm not a real hardcore gamer, and we still go out together all the time. She even has a Wii so she obviously doesn't think gaming is stupid. I don't think she's seen me playing with my bluetooth headset on though. Knowing her, she'd probably think it's cute or something.

IMO, the bluetooth headsets are slightly less geeky than the 360 headsets cus you don't have to look like a telephone salesman and, at least in downtown Chicago where I work, BT headsets are pretty common for busy cellphone users.

I never said I didn't like Burnout Paradise. I've never really played it, just the demo. I'm not really interested in buying it, though.

Frankly, I'm lazy. I don't want to bring up the on screen keypad. it's a whip. And did I mention I'm lazy?? It's too easy to just hit record and leave your message like it is on Live. I do miss that feature. Like last night, I was having a bitch of a time staying online while trying to get some deathmatch in with GLOW. It would have been very simple to just leave him a message saying, SORRY!! But I'm too lazy to type a message in one key at a time.

Go to buy.com, buddy. They have the Jabra BT-135 for $14.99, and with Google checkout you get $10 off. Total cost: $4.99. No batteries. Just charge and play.

I was wondering what the hell happened. First F91 ditched me after 1 game, then you ditch me after 1 game. Does everyone here hate me? :(

Seriously I near about yanked the cable out of the wall last night. After you joined my party, and we got in the game, everything seemed fine. After two or three minutes, I get the "Connection Interrupted" message. Then I had to exit the game. Did it keep going? I didn't know if I was the host or not. Then I just couldn't seem to hook back up with you. After I would get your invites, it would tell me the lobby had closed. Exasperating.

I picked up the Jabra BT8040 last week. its a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Another quick noob question GLOW (or anyone else) in the audio device settings, do you set the bluetooth device for both the input device and output device? Thanks again!

I use it for input and output. If I use speakers I get feedback and ambient noise. It's just the better option to do what I do.
