Please help I been back and forth on these tvs for weeks now and I just want to get one so I can relax. I have read hundreds of pages of reviews on both tv's and I still can not decide. :banghead:

Both can be found for 1100$ and thats my limit.
I will be using it for playing Xbox360 35% and tv/movies 65%.
My wife wants 80u and I want 700u
We usaly sit between 3-7 feet.

Really it comes down to a early 08 entry level model or a top of the line 07 model and im really not sure what to do.
Thanks for any help :)

3-7 feet? Get 1080p for sure.

Both are great, but at that close, you will benefit from 1080p.

I agree.. if you can get the 700U for around the the same price as th 80U, I would jump on that. Since you sit that close, you will benifit from 1080p IMO. But the cheepest I seen the 700U was around $1350 shipped online (Tiger Direct). Where can you get it under $1100?

This will be a bedroom tv for now and the bedroom isnt that big. I currently have a 5054 in my livingroom.

I have a coupon for 700u at costcos 200 off on march 24 and the tv is currently running at 1300 right now . I can buy it tomorow and they will reinburse me my 200 on march 24 and they have plenty in stock im my area. also 700u comes with a 2 year warrenty the px80u only comes with 1 year at cc .

Basicaly im not so worried about the 1080p vs 720p. I can live with 720p if its worth it. I am wondering which one is a better tv, the best PQ, the fewest problems , etc.

I know its still to early to know if the px80 has any issues thats what makes it even tougher to choose
