This price is for new customer..but for current customers, anyone called in and got to switch to this price for six months? Additional to the deal is they give free modem and wireless router.
Right now I have to pay for the modem rental.

Finally, I have some time to call Comcast today. They say that it's online offer only. I am not sure they offer this deal nationwide or not. :what:

Try threatening you will cancel the service and they may negotiate, esp if you have DSL in your area...

It worked for me. Asked Comcast if there was anything they could do to get my bill down because Directv was offering a really good deal to get me back. Ended up knocking $45 off my monthly bill and threw in Starz free for a year.

New internet customers can get $19.99 for 6 months in retail locations (Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal Mart). That is a national retail offer. They give you a self install kit and Circuit has a net to free modem. All stores have varying mail in rebates for cash. Best Buy's is $100 off any PC or laptop.

Comcast has a code for all kinds of deals...if you get retention on the line, you never know what kind of deal you might get.

That's the key, get retention on the line. They really hooked me up. I really didn't want to switch, and now I don't have to. :yippee:  :yippee:

yes, it works. There's a thread on slickdeals about it. I can't post the thread yet as I'm too new here.

I knocked my bill down from $125 to about $84, and I got free HBO and Starz.

I called comcast and told them I was thinking of canceling my cable and internet service because I was dissatisfied with some of the service. The rep ended up giving me the broadband service for $19.99 a month for a year, plus HBO, Cinemax and DVR service, all free, also for a year.
