too much - almost $50 mo. Thats why I discontinued it and switched to AT&T at $24.95 a month with more features. I called comcast first to see if they could give me a deal to keep it since I have both tv and internet but they refused. I considered Vonage but I heard of support problems.

Ah, but wait until after the end of the triple play deal. The price shoots up. I had been successful calling them and getting discounts after the offer runs out by getting current specials, but the last time I called they said because I just came off of a special discount (on the tv part) that I would have to wait before getting another discount. I said that I had been a customer for over 20 years and had all 3 services and they couldn't come up with something? Guess they only want to please new customers.

i'm locked for 2 years, once the time is up i have no problem switching providers and getting a better deal elsewhere.

Wow, you're the second person int the last week on this forum that has said they were locked into a 2-yr contract with Comcast. I had never heard of contracts with cable providers. That was one of the reasons I switched from Directv when I was looking to upgrade to HD. No up front $$ and no contract. I could leave at anytime.

This be news to me also!! One of comcasts selling points is "no contracts". This may be one of their new marketing schemes to go "after the higher end crowd".

Check the second link - comcast clearly states no service contract. If they be holding you to it,,,please visit your local office and explain their own rules to them. But use a crayon, hopefully you can draw them a picture they will understand. Please don't use a bat.

They have special prices in my area (CT) if you commit to 2 years. There top one is all channels, HD DVR, phone, & top speed internet for $159 for 24 months ($150 penalty for early termination just like DTV). Keep in mind that we have very high prices compared to most areas in the country so this is a good price for them here, some areas this deal maybe even more then your regular prices! It's Comcastic!

Please give us a channel listing you get. And how many HD DVR boxes does it include? Does it include "digital fees"? You say $159 for 24 months,,,,is $159 the base price without the added fees? If not, what is the actual cost, with lets say,,,,2 HD DVR's? If you get it all for $159,,,yup it be comcastic,,,,,if not,,,same ol same ol compcrap!!!

i was hesitant at first but figured if I could lock in the rate for 2 years it wouldn't be all that bad. i've been happy with it so far (6 mos. in).

If you want any additional boxes they are additional along with the digital fee, but the $159 actually is pretty good. I have not done it yet because I am not sure I want to use them for there phone service, but it would save me about $20 a month over my Comcast bill & AT&T for phone & DSL (combined). Comcast just pisses me off with the continual increases that are higher then any other company!

I see you're in plainville.. Good distance, but you seem to be paying a lot more than when I had Comcast. Best plain was Platinum with everything including those town and state taxes it came up to $113 a month. When TLC was running things in CT I only paid $79 for everything then it gone to AT&T then back to Comcast where it really hit the roof. Good luck with them now.. Now I am with COX you get HD for free, the HD DVR box is less than Comcast charges.

With Comcast if you miss you paying your bill and I know lot of friends do this always they will cut your service off quicker, than you can say JACK RABBIT!

When I had drop the service and I to get rid of the two digital boxes I had, so I had drove up to Springfield, MA they have a huge Comcast drive through system their. Comcast won't go into a town where COX is to pick up the digital boxes, but that's stupid as you see comcast vans drive though, you mean to tell me the go can't stop! Anyway I had forget to bring the powercord for one of them. They told me $5.00 bucks would be added to my bill. For a power cord..

Now we have Comcast in Florida oh my gone is the free use of HBO, SHO, MAX, TMC an etc without using a digital box and just using a Cable Ready TV. Comcast didn't like that idea so it block all those channels so our bill when from $50 to $115 faster you can say PETER PAN!
